Services » International Removals:
There are four different ways to send household or any other goods abroad, by sea or air. Sea freight is the most common used and is as follows:
We can either use a 6 meter container (20’) or a 12 meter container (40’) depending on how much furniture and boxes are estimated from the survey done by the sales consultant. Should proper space be available, containers can be stationed at the residence the day of the loading. Containers should then not block any trafic or cause any inconvenience for your neighbours or road users.
If containers can not be stationed at client's residence, we can place the container at our premises and pack the container here. If we have to do the loading of the container at our warehouse, the client is more than welcome to be present with the loading and process from there. An examination will also be done by Customs and Excise if the cargo is not diplomatic. Containers are then railed to Walvis Bay port to leave on the booked vessel from Walvis Bay to the destination port.
These shipments are usually less than 1/3 of a 20’ container, packed the same as any other international export, but will be crated in lift vans. These crates are then sent to Johannesburg and exported via Durban port or Cape Town port, depending on the destination. Not all destinations have this option of sea freight.
These shipments are also less than 10 cubic meters most cases and will also share a container with other clients. The only difference is that it will not be crated, but loose loaded in the container. It will also be sent to Johannesburg South Africa and exported via Durban port or Cape Town port, depending on the destination. Not all destinations have this option of sea freight
